Jim Buchheit, AIF®

Jim Buchheit, Managing Director, has worked in wealth management since 2003. As an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR), Jim holds the FINRA series 65 securities license with LPL Financial and has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation.

Jim received his training and built his financial advisory practice under the guidance of two global and one regional financial services firms.  Years spent at UBS Financial Services, Merrill Lynch, and NatCity Investments provided the underpinning of Jim's experience.  In 2008, Jim partnered with Mort Sachs at Sachs Investment Group, a boutique investment management firm with roots dating back to 1974.  Together, Mort and Jim led a team of dedicated professionals focused on advising their clientele in all facets of wealth management with an emphasis on investment management.  After Mort's passing in 2019, Jim formed Moose Capital Advisors in conjunction with a partnership with Corvus Capital. This relationship with added partners and resources widens the foundation of his expanding wealth management business. Throughout Jim's career, his primary responsibilities concentrate on portfolio and relationship management, including, but not limited to, financial planning, portfolio analysis, asset allocation modeling, investment selection, and client services. 

Jim was born in Los Angeles, CA, he grew up in New Canaan, CT, and graduated from Denison University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree.   After years spent in San Francisco, CA with his wife Rachel, the two decided to move to Louisville, KY, Rachel's hometown, where they started their family.  Jim and Rachel have three teenage boys.  Representing areas of passion for him, Jim has held board of director positions for Down Syndrome of Louisville, Louisville Boat Club, and Kentucky Squash Racquets Association.  The Buchheit family is an active member of Holy Trinity Parish.
